Finding Turku's identity
The muslim community based in Finland wanted to create an identity, that would help raise awareness about their faith and promote the existing efforts to foster a healthy relationship with the local Finnish community. The challenge here was achieving the right balance between main stream Finland, keeping it modern and the more traditional Muslim heritage styles; such as architecture and their form of language.
Working with my strategist and UX designer we explored ideas on our target audience, how useful and usable the site needs to be, how crediable is the brand, website and content (look and feel, who they are associated with and source of information), how accessible the site is (their audience may have people with sight disabilities, SEO, bandwidth limits), how can we maintain user traffic flow to the site on a daily basis (what value are we giving to the user when they come back to the site); types of content for portal and article pages, social content, accessiblity to prayer times espcially during Ramadan.
